Sing the old, old story !
July 17, 2016

“Blessed be the Lord God!”  sings Zechariah.  In all places and times, people have found a voice for their abiding trust and deepest beliefs in songs of faith.  In the brilliance of new days and from the depths of darkness, songs have poured forth as natural expressions of love and longing, of despair and hope, of fear and consolation.  All are rooted in a foundational truth.  All revolve around one, central, ancient story – the “old, old story” – of the love and goodness of God that ultimately prevails.  From the songs of Hannah, Moses and Miriam, to Zechariah’s song and Mary’s Magnificat, the old, old story resounds.  And it continues to find new melody and meter in lives of faith today.
