Worship March 29, 2020 -  A Service of Worship, Reflection & Renewal

Fifth Sunday in Lent March 29, 2020

Greeting and Prayers
God of compassion and grace,
be with us in times of peril and separation.
 Be with us in times of spiritual desert and isolation.  Be our guide and our salvation and lead us forth into the light once more.  Amen.

A Reading from Isaiah

 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He does not faint or grow weary;
 his understanding is unsearchable.  He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless.
Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young
will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.

                                                            Isaiah 40:28-31
A Reading from Matthew
 At that time Jesus said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father;
and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to

whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
 "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble
 in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

                                                       Matthew 11:25-30
